A Review of Korean Medicine Treatment for Amenorrhea - Focused on Korean Clinical Studies after 2000s -

Abstract
Objectives : The Purpose of this study is to analyse the Korean medical treatment for Amenorrhea by reviewing Korean Clinical studies.

Methods : 16 articles which were published from January, 2000 to August, 2020. Were obtained from the Oriental medicine advanced searching integrated system (OASIS), Research information sharing service (RISS), and National discovery for science leader (NDSL) by using keyword ¡®Amenorrhea¡¯.

Results : 50 cases in 16 articles were selected. The combination of herbal medicine, acupuncture, and moxibuxtion treatment was most often used. The most commonly-used herbal medicine was Guishin-hwan and the most commonly-used acupoint was LR3 and the most commonly-used Moxibustion point was CV4. After Korean medicine treatment, 38 cases presented the recovery of the normal menstrual cycle.

Conclusion : Based on the results of the clinical studies, Korean medicine treatment could be an effective option for amenorrhea treatment and symptom improvement.
